Embolden’s position regarding Terms of Reference for the Royal Commission into Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence

Embolden commends the State Government for listening to the overwhelming call for a Royal Commission into domestic, family and sexual violence in South Australia. Our state needs a whole-of-government strategic and integrated approach to preventing and responding to DFSV, and we welcome the opportunity this Royal Commission will provide to shape the future of our state’s approach to the epidemic of gender-based violence in our community.

This position statement outlines Embolden’s view on the scope and focus of the terms of reference for the Royal Commission. The State Government has indicated that it will consult with the DFSV sector on draft terms of reference, once developed, and we welcome this.
