Domestic Violence Resources for People with Disability

People with Disability Australia (PWDA) have launched three new ‘Easy Read’ resources and several new videos as part of their ‘Building Access’ project toolkit. The Building Access pilot is an innovative initiative enabling domestic and family violence (DFV) services to better meet the needs of women and children with disability.

The three ‘Easy Read’ resources are designed for people with disability who may be experiencing domestic, family or sexual violence, and explains how to report abuse to police. These are accompanied by a number of resources to support DFV services in becoming more accessible for people with disability, including how to create an inclusion plan and a guide to policy and practice for women with disability experiencing violence or abuse.

The project and resources are outlined in the Media Release, and the toolkit including Easy Read resources, videos, and resources for DFV services can be found through the link below.
