Zahra Foundation’s Women on the Run is back for it’s eighth year with a bigger target then ever – $50,000
Run, walk or stroll a 4km round trip along the Grange to Henley shoreline in support of women and non-binary people who have experienced domestic or family violence.
By joining Women on the Run you are ensuring that the Zahra Foundation can continue to empower women and non-binary people who’ve experienced domestic and family violence to not only rebuild their lives but to thrive personally, socially and financially.
Raising $50,000 will enable Zahra Foundation to support 30 women and non-binary people through the process of recovery and along the journey to economic empowerment.
At Zahra Foundation, recovery is at the heart of everything they do. Zahra Foundation works together with women and non-binary people to restore all that has been lost through the experience of control and abuse, helping women and non-binary people to build self-esteem, set boundaries, make decisions, find financial security and feel valued.
However, this work cannot be done alone, and Zahra Foundation is asking the community to come together, in solidarity, to enable this work to continue and expand.
The day is also a chance to celebrate the life and legacy of Zahra Abrahimzadeh, the Foundation’s namesake, who’s life was taken by her estranged husband at the Adelaide Convention Centre in March 2010.
So, get your friends, family, and colleagues registered and donating for Women on the Run on Sunday 19 March 2023.
