White Ribbon Australia in partnership with the Institute of non-violence
Hosted by Hala Abdelnour and Brad Chilcott

On Thursday 26 August 2021, you’re invited to join a conversation with community leaders and expert change makers to learn how you can play a part in creating a future where women and children are free from all forms of men’s violence and abuse.

Hosted by White Ribbon Australia and the Institute of non-violence (IoNV) the #CommunityLedChange webinar features:

Dr Tracy Castelino, CEO of ShantiWorksAlan Thorpe, Director and Facilitator of Dardi Munwurro (Strong Spirit), which delivers approximately 20 leadership programs to vulnerable Aboriginal men; Elizabeth Lang, CEO and founder of DiversityFocus; and Shaynna Blaze, interior designer, co-founder of Voice of Change and TV personality featured on The Block and Celebrity Apprentice.

Facilitated by White Ribbon Australia’s Executive Director Brad Chilcott and IoNV CEO and Founder, Hala Abdelnour, this is an incredible opportunity to learn more about self-determination and how community-led approaches are critical in our mission to end men’s violence.

The panel will reflect on the benefits of community-led approaches, share models that are working well and discuss the challenges of doing this in a meaningful and effective way.

White Ribbon Australia’s Community Response Fund will put resources into the hands of communities doing the work of change. You can find out more and support the Community Response Fund here.

The Institute of non-violence provides tools for more inclusive and intersectional systemic responses to address and prevent the use of violence. The Institute offers a new vision and space to explore the ways in which systemic forms of oppression impact our lived experiences of multiple forms of violence.
