Dr Sarah Moulds of UniSA, in collaboration with Rian Yohanesh of Uniting Communities, are launching their important research report Powerful Interventions: Improving the use and enforcement of Intervention Orders as a tool to address family and domestic violence in South Australia at a panel discussion and launch event.

The aim of this research is to improve the quality of South Australia’s response to family and domestic violence by identifying practical reform options to increase access to and enforcement of Intervention Orders in South Australia. This aim aligns with the strong demand within the South Australian community to see the Intervention Orders regime improved.

The event will feature a panel discussion by the authors, a presentation by Hon Katrine Hildyard MP Minister for Women and the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence and Minister for Child Protection.

Key findings will be discussed by the following special guests:

  • Khatija Thomas, Aboriginal Justice Policy Officer, Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement (ALRM)
  • Dimitra Droulias, Civil Practice Director Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement (ALRM)
  • Jennifer Kingwell – Embolden
  • Key staff from Uniting Communities.
