16 days of Activism against Gender Based Violence is recognised annually from 25th November to 10th December. This year, the city of Onkaparinga will be supporting the region with a calendar of community events to raise awareness about gender-based violence.
On Sunday 27 November, the city of Onkaparinga is calling all men and community members to stand up together and march down Beach Road, to show support for those affected by domestic violence. The Men’s March will commence at 1:30pm at Market Square next to Coles, and will conclude at Rotary Park where the Clothesline Project event will be held from 2pm.
The free Clothesline Project event will allow the community to create messages of support for victims of domestic and family violence, and learn more about local services such as Embolden members Zahra, Centacare, and Uniting Communities, through interactive and information stalls. The free event will also feature live music, a BBQ, coffee and pamper treatments.
