NWSA – Focus on women’s safety welcome in Budget but more needed

National Women’s Safety Alliance (NWSA) have published a media release in response to the Federal Government’s Budget and the spending allocated to women’s safety.

The release states “the focus on women’s safety and health measures in the Budget are crucial but more is needed to tackle the national crisis in domestic, family and sexual violence.”

The Budget includes a $2.1 spending target for women and girls, but CEO Renee Hamilton says the Budget “could have done more” to address the preventable drivers of gender-based violence.
