eSafety Commissioner says abuse, predators still roam free on dating apps

Embolden’s message to men: stalking, harassment and abuse are just as real online as in real life. Think about your behaviour, and reach out if you’re acting out.

Embolden and Australia’s eSafety Commissioner are concerned about men’s behaviour towards women on popular dating apps such as Tinder, as well as providers’ level of care for the safety of their users, as reported in today’s Sunday Mail.

Jennifer Kingwell, Embolden’s Policy & Communications Manager, said men should take responsibility for their behaviour both on and offline:

If you find yourself getting off by sending abusive messages, or getting angry and lashing out after someone choses not to take things further with you, that’s a red flag about your own behaviour, and I would urge [you] to reach out to the men’s referral service.
